Join me for “Getting Full”!

The next Getting Full Live will be January 19th at 9:30 CT. I’ll be sharing some of my tips for supporting yourself through cultural events that can bring about body image distress (New Year’s resolutions) and embracing a more supportive view of yourself. Bring a meal to share while we chat! It will be recorded and sent out for paid subscribers within the week.

January: Monday, January 19th at 9:30 am CT, Body Image Support & Combatting “New Year New Me” mentality

February: Thursday, February 12th at 12 pm CT, Embracing your Heart Hunger

March: Thursday March 12th at 12 pm CT, Building Body Image Resilience

You’ll get email reminders that I’m “going live” a few days before the event. Remember that this is a perk for paid and comped subscribers, so if you haven’t made the plunge yet, there’s no time like the present.

This is part three of my added sugar AMA series. You can find the first two posts here:

Today, we’ll be addressing this question:

“I’d love to know more about the recommendations around added sugar and how much to worry about your added sugar consumption. I have a sweet tooth and eat something sweet for breakfast and dessert every night. I worry that I’m harming my health constantly by consuming too much added sugar. I eat plenty of other types of food, but it’s hard not to panic when sugar is always in the news lately.

First of all, thank you so much for this question. The current food information landscape is confusing and harsh, so it can be incredibly difficult to find your personal path forward with a supportive frame of eating. Hopefully, this series has helped reestablish trust within yourself. The word that stood out to me throughout this question is worry. So, let’s focus on why worry happens with food and why it isn’t the most helpful.

December is a 5-week month! That means that one post is automatically paywalled, and it happens to be this one. As much as I would love for 100% of my content to be free to everyone, The Full Life happens to be a part of my job, and paying subscribers are the only reason I can continue to do this work. So, thank you to all of my paid or comped subscribers - you are helping this project stay sustainable and doable.

If you would like to upgrade your subscription and support this project, there’s no better time than now. You can currently get 25% off your subscription (for forever, no price increases in the future, even if I up the subscription price!) through the end of the month. It’s my Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s, or holiday of choice gift to you. I hope you join the squad - there are some worthwhile perks to making the plunge!

If becoming a paid subscriber isn’t doable right now (the economy is a mess, I know), you can help support this project by sharing your favorite posts with people in your life or via social media, by liking these posts to tell Substack that I’m worth recommending via their platform, and by commenting to share your own thoughts and feedback. I’m grateful to each and every person who reads what I write, so most of all, thank you for sticking around.
